Award Scheme Colours

There are 8 levels in the scheme:
yellow, green, red, blue, black, bronze, silver, and gold
Each level has a set of scales, a pin study, theory and some tasks to complete.The difficulty of each award increases as you go up the levels.You must pass the prelim level to enter Frostys Band, green level to become a member of the youth band part time, and red to become a full youth band member. You do not have to take part in the scheme but you will find it challenging and rewarding.

At the end of each level you will be presented with a certificate and a pin badge of the appropriate colour to wear on your uniform, however as well as getting the certificate and pin badge when you gain your bronze pin, silver pin and gold pin you also get a summer school sponsorship and when you get your silver pin and gold pin you get a summer school sponsorship, a certificate, pin badge, and a solo spot in one of the Test Valley Brass concerts.
