The contest band has players made up from across the Test Valley Brass Family and welcomes new players who
wish to join the family. This gives not only band members the opportunity to contest, but provides the opportunity for
some of the younger members to experience contesting at a higher level.
The test piece is "A Little Light Music" by Philip Wilby, which was commissioned by the Welsh
Brass Arts Festival.
The five section suite starts with features movements entitled, 'Fanfare', 'Clog Dance',
'The Lady of the Fountain', 'Cardiff Bay Ice Cream' and 'Fanfare'
2011 was the first year
that TVB contested in section 3 for many years and came a very respectable 10th place
2012
Test Valley Brass is returning to Torquay to take part in
the South West regionals in section 3.
